Cousin Time

A few weeks ago we kept Gavin and Kaitlyn, our niece and nephew, while their dad had spinal surgery. Kaitlyn is 4, and Gavin is almost 2. This meant we had children ages 5, 4, 2, and almost 2 for over 48 hours. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. The kids played well together, and it really wasn't as hard as I had imagined it to be, much to the chagrin of Duane, who was hoping this would convince me we should stop with 2 children! Friday night the kids played until they dropped to the floor, then Saturday we had a soccer game in the blustery cold weather. Kaitlyn slept through it, Gavin sat on the blanket and watched, Tori ran around, and Emmalee played one of the best games she had played up to that point. Then we went home for lunch and a little relaxation. Here are the pics to prove it.

Once everyone woke up from their naps, we bundled up and went back outside.

Next we went inside and everyone made their own mini pizza

This was followed by cookie making, baths, playtime, and bedtime.
Here are all four of them before church. They were waiting for me to finish the homemade donuts! We all went to church, came home and had lunch, napped, playes, played some more, ate dinner, and waited for Grandma and Papa to pick up the cousins so we could all return to work/school on Monday. We all had a great time!
