An Appeal to Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

I understand that you are a very busy women, what with having to keep up with the weather of the entire Planet Earth and all, but I am hoping you will take a moment to hear me out. This winter has been quite rough for the majority of the United States. The bitter cold and overwhelming amounts of snow have left many of us with bad attitudes. I understand how you might think that some people really enjoy this stuff, but quite frankly, I have had enough. I really think you have outdone yourself this year!!!
Outside of the ridiculous number of snow days we have had (have I mentioned how much I absolutely HATE making days up in May???), the bitter cold and treacherous road conditions have kept a busybody like myself stuff inside for days on end. Do you remember what it is like for small children to be cooped up inside with the same toys and the same mom for days on end? It is NOT a pretty sight (or sound, in case you were wondering)!! The floors in my house and my car may never be the same. I am quite certain that my daughters could have build a 10 foot snowman with the amount of snow we have trekked through our house this year.
I would like to appeal to you to make it quit. We all understand that you are a powerful force with which to be reckoned. I firmly believe you have made your point, and I am quite certain that nearly everyone in the United States has learned to take you seriously. If you could find it within yourself to bring winter to an end and bring about the return of sunny, warm days, I (and many, many others) would be SO VERY THANKFUL!!! I promise I won't even think about complaining about the spring winds or the summer droughts...
Sincerely,
Sick of Snow in MO.

P.S. Here are a few pics of the most recent snowfall (which just so happened to be only 2 days after the previous snowfall, in case you lost count...)

Happy Heart Day...

...from the O'Dell girls!

Hope it was super sweet!!!

Emmalee's Valentine Party

Emmalee's class Valentine Party was held Friday, February 12. I was able to attend her third and final school party, which is a bit bittersweet (since that means she is almost done with kindergarten).

Kindergarten has gone by much too fast, but I love how grown up and fabulous Emmalee is!

No Love Like A Sister's Love...

There has never been a doubt in my mind that my girls have unconditional love for one another. It just never ceases to amaze me the different ways they show it. The other night Tori wanted Emmalee to put her to sleep. Emmalee, however, went to sleep first. Tori leaned over and kissed Emmalee's cheek and promptly feel asleep, as the pictures show.

The most precious sight ever!!!!

While Mommy is Away...

...Daddy is in charge!!!

I had to go away for a few days for a school conference, so Duane was at home with the girls all on his own. He was responsible for getting Emmalee up and around and delivered to school on time, return home with Tori, and then pick Emmalee up from school/choir. He was very successful and I even came home to a clean house! Yes, I said CLEAN!!!! Daddy even followed up on Mommy's tradition of taking a picture of Emmalee before school every day of her kindergarten year. In fact, he took a few of Tori as well. It was nice to learn all the things I did while I was gone, but it was also nice to get back home to my family, even though they did just fine without me!
