The girls took dance lessons again this year with Shapes Dance and Acro in Carrollton, MO. We absolutely LOVE it there. This year Emmalee was asked to audition for the competitive team, and she made it. She danced at least two hours a week and then participated in multiple performances, including two competitions. She has gained so much self-confidence and improved. We can't wait to see how she does in the years to come. Tori took recreational lessons again, and she has really improved as well. She really has rhythm, and I am sure it won't be long before she competes as well. Emmalee participated in three different recitals. This was at the Marshall recital.

4 months
At four months you(r):
*sleep through the night (it wasn't a fluke)
*like to be asleep between 7 and 8
*wake between 4 and 5 and then again between 6 and 8
*don't think you need to nap but mommy is working on breaking that nasty habit
*are a VERY supportive little brother throughout all of your sisters' dance practices
*roll over
*love your bath time
*are typically a very content baby
*are extremely tolerant of your older sisters
*love to play with the chicky toy on your bouncy seat
*favorite toy is a pink pig toy that hangs from your car seat but you prefer to hold on to
*have basically given up your binky
*cannot stand to be in a wet diaper (we can only hope this means good things about potty training)
*make us smile when you smile, giggle, coo, or basically just breathe
We love you to the moon and back little buddy!

So Long First Grade
First grade was a BIG year for Emmalee. I cannot even begin to recount all the things she learned, but the thing I know I am the most excited about is that Mrs. Fox took her from a capable (meaning I could do it if I wanted to) reader to an advanced reader. This kid READS things I could not imagine reading at that age. I am SO excited!!! She learned patience and how to deal with students who weren't always as attentive. She polished her writing skills and has the one trait of writing that is so very difficult to teach-voice. Hers comes naturally. She uses a lot of humor in her writing, as well as adventure, suspense, mystery, and on and on... She's good with math and counting money, as well as amazing with science and history. She's pretty well rounded at this point, which makes me very happy! Mrs. Fox was the most amazing teacher we could have dreamed for Emmalee to have, and we feel blessed that her experiences in school thus far have been so amazing. While I hate the thought of wishing her life away, I can hardly wait to see what second grade holds!

Konner
We have a high school baby-sitter. Her name is Konner. She graduated this year. We are sad (especially Emmalee and Tori). We are REALLY going to miss her. Here she is. Emmalee, Tori, Konner, and Cale and Konner's graduation party.

Spring Celebration 2011
Tori's preschool had a Spring Celebration at the end of the school year. Each "grade" level of preschoolers put on a little show, and then there were cookies and punch afterwards. It was so great to watch Tori perform. She has learned so much this year and turned into such a sweet (slightly sassy) little girl who has really grown up so much this past year. Tori in her classroom in the dress SHE picked out to wear.
